Unable To Select/Use a Non Asset and Non Quantity Tracked Subinventory In the Bill Define Form or When Using the BOM Open Interface
(Doc ID 2575174.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle Bills of Material - Version 12.1.3 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
In the Bill Define form (BOMFDBOM.fmb), you cannot choose/use subinventory that is both non asset and non quantity tracked
when populating the WIP Supply subinventory. The same restriction exists when using the BOM Open Interface.
However, this restriction does not exist in Work in Process (WIP) when updating WIP material requirements or in Oracle Product Hub (OPH).
The Asset Subinventory setting means that items contained within the subinventory are regarded as assets.
The Quantity Tracked setting indicates onhand item quantity is recorded/tracked.
For example, define two subinventories with the following settings:
Subinventory Name | Quantity Tracked | Asset Subinventory |
SUB-1 | Yes | Yes |
SUB-2 | No | No |
Now try the following:
- Navigate Bills of Material > Bills > Bills
- On the Material Control tab, open the Subinventory LOV.
Only subinventory SUB-1 will appear.
After the applying the patch shown below, both subinventories should appear for use.
