Network Routing Doesn't Give The Cheapest Result When Have to Consolidate More Than One Order. (Doc ID 2576896.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Operational Planning - Version 4.0 and later
Oracle Transportation Operational Planning Cloud Service - Version 6.3.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Network Routing Planning does not produce the cheapest solution.

Example:

You have two Orders.
Order01
Order02

You have a Rate Record with the following conditions.
If Equipment Group = BIG_EQP = cost 1500
If Equipment Group = SMALL_EQP = cost 1000

When you run a Bulkplan with (ORDER ROUTING METHOD=Network Routing), then OTM created tw shipments as follows.

Shipment01 has SMALL_EQP = cost $1000 (Order01)
Shipment02 has SMALL_EQP = cost $1000 (Order02)
The total cost if this solution is $2000

The optimal/cheapest solution is to get 1 shipment created.

Shipment01 has BIG_EQP = cost $1500 (Order01 + Order02)
