One Time Billing Schedules Are Not Getting Generated When Contracts Are Created From Templates. (Doc ID 2621041.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 17, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Service Contracts - Version 12.2.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.8 version, Service Authoring

When creating a Service Contract from a Template, a one time Billing Schedule does not get created when there exists no partial period setup either in the Template or in the Global Contract Defaults.  Expectation is to create a one time billing schedule (Single Schedule as was created in 11i) when the Service Contract is created from the Template when there are no Partial Periods defined in the Template or in the Global Contract Defaults. This feature should not be dependent on the duration of the Template or the streams available in the template.  Any duration Contract created with any duration Contract Template should generate a single one time billing schedule irrespective of whether or not a billing schedule is defined in the template.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1) Service Contracts (R)

2) Create a new Service Contract from a Template

3) Observe the Billing Schedule information which is not a one time schedule but dependent on the duration of template and duration of Contract and the streams already available in the Template

Due to this issue, users cannot create Contracts from Templates with automatic one time billing schedules.
