Allow Bind Variables To Be Used for Products & Services Definitions in iSupplier Portal (Doc ID 2623764.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 27, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle iSupplier Portal - Version 12.1.3 to 12.2 [Release 12.1 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In Oracle iSupplier Portal, previously bind variables could not be used in the value sets that are used by the item category which the Products and Services pages utilize.  Enhancement Request (ER) Bug 14792908 "ALLOW PRODUCTS AND SERVICES VALUE SETS TO USE BIND VARIABLES" was filed previously to request the application to allow the ability to use bind variables in the value set definitions.

Some businesses would like the ability to use bind variables in the value sets, as this offers additional flexibility in deriving the values to be used in the value sets.  Bind variable used in value sets are supported in the Forms-based applications such as Oracle Purchasing and Oracle Inventory, and businesses have used the bind variables for many years in these products, but the bind variables could not be used in the web-based Supplier Products and Services pages.
