Applying patches for Java Web Start (JWS), Patch 24833534:R12.GMD.C Failed (Doc ID 2632404.1)

Goal

When applying patches for Java Web Start (JWS) Implementation (see note 2188898.1) the application of patch 24833534:R12.GMD.C failed with the following errors:

Uploading from the data file /app/ebs/instance1/ebs/fs1/EBSapps/appl/gmd/12.0.0/patch/115/import/US/gmdprg.ldt
Altering database NLS_LANGUAGE environment to AMERICAN
Dumping from LCT/LDT files (/app/ebs/instance1/ebs/fs1/EBSapps/appl/fnd/12.0.0/patch/115/import/afcpprog.lct(120.7.12020000.7), /app/ebs/instance1/ebs/fs1/EBSapps/appl/gmd/12.0.0/patch/115/import/US/gmdprg.ldt) to staging tables
Dumping LCT file /app/ebs/instance1/ebs/fs1/EBSapps/appl/fnd/12.0.0/patch/115/import/afcpprog.lct(120.7.12020000.7) into FND_SEED_STAGE_CONFIG
Dumping LDT file /app/ebs/instance1/ebs/fs1/EBSapps/appl/gmd/12.0.0/patch/115/import/US/gmdprg.ldt into FND_SEED_STAGE_ENTITY
Dumped the batch (EXECUTABLE QCR01USR GMD , PROGRAM GMDRSPVL GMD ) into FND_SEED_STAGE_ENTITY
Uploading from staging tables
A database error occurred:

The error occurred while executing the following statement:
BEGIN FND_SEED_STAGE_UTIL.upload(:lct_file, :proc_id, :debug, :abort, :warning, :err_cnt, :err_msgs); END;

Customer does not use the GMD product. Is it necessary to apply this patch?
