Symptoms
When entering tax registration number on the Party Tax Profile or on Receivables or Account Payables forms, there is an error: Please enter a valid tax registration number.
There is new tax registration number format per regulation on 01-Jan-2020 is for sole traders.
New VAT identification number from 1 January 2020 for sole traders (one-man businesses)
Privacy legislation (AVG) says that the citizen service number may no longer be part of the VAT number with which the entrepreneur identifies himself to the market.
The VAT ID is a personal, unique number consisting of a series of 14 characters: NL.9 digits.B01 (or higher).
The difference with the current VAT number is that the 9 digits are no longer related to a citizen service number.
It is a unique "meaningless" number and cannot be traced back to privacy-sensitive data.
The modulo 97 calculation is used for compiling. This prevents overlap with the 11 test used to compile the citizen service number.
