Error Trying to Delete One Reservation for Expired Lot, "The transaction has failed". Also Errors Trying to Close Reservations Window, and When Reservation UOM not Item's Primary UOM
(Doc ID 2651779.1)
Last updated on APRIL 17, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Inventory Management - Version 12.2.7 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
On : 12.2.7 version
When a lot has been reserved to more than one OPM batch (or probably, to any kind of document), and then the lot expires after the reservations were created, it was impossible to delete the reservations from one batch or
document at a time; you had to delete all of the reservations at the same time. Therefore, you had to access the Item Reservations Window from the Inventory > Onhand, Availability menu, because you had to display and delete
every reservation and delete them all together; you could not access the Item Reservations Window from Batch Details because that only allowed you to delete reservations for one batch.
ERROR
-----------------------
The transaction has failed. Another process has consumed the required
material. Please delete this transaction record, close and re-open the form
in order to re-enter the transaction.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. For an item that is expiration-controlled, reserve a lot that is not
expired to more than one batch or document
2. Time goes by and the lot expires
3. Try to delete the reservation for one batch or document
It was also found after applying patch 29166884:R12.INV.C for the above issue, that after editing a reservation on a batch, saving, and trying to close the Item Reservations window, the following error occurs.
ERROR
-----------------------
Item not found. Invalid item. Please re-enter.
This sometimes displayed as:
ITEM_NOTFOUND (INVENTORY_ITEM_ID=) (ORGANIZATION_ID=468)
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Apply patch 29166884:R12.INV.C
2. Retrieve OPM batch that has a reservation (Production Supervisor > Batch
Details > Reservations button).
3. Edit the reservation, changing lot or quantity, and save.
4. Try to close the form, get error.
Then, after applying patch 29642351:R12.INV.C, customer found that when creating or deleting reservations in which the UOM is not the item's primary UOM, an error message displays that there is no UOM conversion between the reservation UOM and the primary UOM, even though there is such a UOM conversion. Based on internal testing, it seems this issue was introduced earlier than patch 29642351:R12.INV.C, possibly in patch 29166884:R12.INV.C, as it happens with INVRSVF1.fmb version 120.170.12020000.68 from that patch.
ERROR
-----------------------
APP-INV-05343: UOM conversion between Lt and Kg is not defined
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a batch with an ingredient that is in a UOM other than its primary UOM (probably happens with any document, not just a batch).
2. Try to create a new reservation in that UOM, or delete an existing reservation in that UOM.
