Unbilled Receivable Formula Not Prorating With Multiunit Termination (Doc ID 2660119.1)

Last updated on JULY 14, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Lease and Finance Management - Version 12.2.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 12.2.7 version, Asset Management

When using a Termination Quote Template that uses a Formula for Unbilled Receivables the amounts calculated are not being calculated as expected.

For example, a contract has:
  a. Two Assets each with a Unit Cost of 1,000 and 5 Units (Total Cost 5,000).
  b. Payments in Arrears with the following structure:
  i. Asset 1 - 12 Periods @ 500
  ii. Asset 2 - 12 Periods @ 600

On the Quote Effective Date 4 Periods have billed, leaving 8 Unbilled Periods.
A Termination Quote is then created for 1 Unit of Asset 1.

The expected Unbilled Receivables Amount is expected to be 800, the portion of the 4,000 (8 * 500) of unbilled receivables for all 5 Units.
However, the resulting Amount is being calculated as 880 which is derived by the unbilled receivables for both assets divided by the sum of all Units:

((8 * 500) + (8 * 600)) / 10 = 880
Expect the Unbilled Receivable Amount for 1 Unit of an Asset to only consider that Asset when deriving the Unbilled Receivable Amount.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a contract as described above.
2. Create a Termination Quote Template that uses a Formula for Unbilled Receivables.
2. Create a Termination Quote for 1 Unit of 1 Asset.
