Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

Sometimes business requirements exist to change General Ledger calendars periods, either to correct a mistake or to reflect a change desired for its definition. For such cases, many times just attempting to change the calendar definition errors:

APP-SQLGL-08044: You can only modify periods that have never been used

While the change may be possible from GL perspective(no or removable constraints), Projects module enforces certain locks on the form and prevents changes.

The purpose of this document is to outline the reasons for such constraints raised from Projects module to avoid calendar changes in GL and provide potential solutions for the cases where a fix is still possible.
