Cannot Change Preferences. User Prompted To Log In Again. (Doc ID 268930.1)

Symptoms

Some users cannot change Preferences.
After navigating to Preferences > General Preferences, the users get a screen with the message:
"Your session is no longer valid. Please login again."
After logging in again and navigating to Preferences > General Preferences, the users again get a screen with the message:
"Your session is no longer valid. Please login again."
The cycle continues...

This issue does not occur for all users.
