Last updated on JULY 28, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle HRMS (US) - Version 12.1 HRMS RUP12 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 12.1 HRMS RUP12 version, US Payroll Tax Issues

When a check date is moved one day forward, the system thinks all the checks are in one pay period. The New York SDI tax is not being withheld from this second check with a different pay period end date

To have a full $1.30 tax deduction for New York SDI when there are different pay period end dates

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. For Semi-monthly periods there has been a change for check dates from 15th and 30th.
2. Currently the check dates are 16th for 1-15th period, for 16-31, it is 1st following month
3. For 1-15th July the check date was 7/16.
4. For 16-31 period, the check date 8/1 falls on a weekend so it has been moved to 7/31.
5. Now the period 16-31 July contains two check dates 7/16 and 7/31
6. There is no New York SDI tax being withheld on the check dated and period end date 7/31
