PDF Payroll Reports Fail with XML-20201 Error After R12.HR_PF.C.Delta.14 (Doc ID 2699972.1)

This note provides a brief overview of Bug:31586824 and Bug:31962108.


Symptoms

Problem Statement:

When Business Group Name, Consolidation Set Name or Payroll Name contains Special characters like (&,",<,>,'), BI publisher reports fail with the error below.

Exiting getBytesFromFile
Exception occured inside processForm. oracle.apps.xdo.XDOException
Exception inside runProgramoracle.apps.xdo.XDOException
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
.....

at oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.Run.main(Run.java:159)
Caused by: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: XX; columnNumber: XX; : XML-20201: (Fatal Error) Expected name instead of .

 

 

Steps to Reproduce:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Apply HR_PF.C RUP14(Patch:30096069)

  2.  Run following reports
     Cost Breakdown Report for Costing Run (PDF)
     Cost Breakdown Report for Date Range (PDF)
     Element Link Details Report (PDF)
     Element Link Details Report (PDF)
     Element Result Listing (PDF)
     Employee Assignments Without Payrolls (PDF)
     Gross to Net Summary (PDF)

  3.  Requests fail with the errors
