Appointment Scheduling in a warehouse is a way of reserving resources for a Shipment, Carrier, and Load etc. and brings in more control to a warehouse’s logistics operations.
Operators generally reserve Docks for a specific time and upon arrival of the carrier, the trailers are directed to those docks.
Dock scheduling brings in the challenge to know the most favorable docks (for a carrier/ type of trailer/dimensions) before hand to schedule an appointment.
Currently, scheduling dock appointments is possible via Dock Assignments form UI.
The functionality is limited
- Reserving a Dock which is mandatory.
- Scheduling appointment for an outbound trip
- No way to provide document details for Inbound Shipments
- UI limitations
In this note, we will cover more about enhanced Scheduling UI and new features introduced as part of 12.2.10 version
