R12: AP: Not Able To Approve Invoice (Doc ID 2719592.1)

Symptoms

When trying to approve an invoice after adding distributions from the work list, an error message shows up after clicking approval button.

You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance.


This is reproduced when following the steps below:

  1. Log in to Oracle
  2. Open the invoice under “ SubjectOpen ”
  3. Select the “Open Attachment list“. View additional details on the right hand side.
  4. Open an attachmen
  5. Return to action items
  6. Under “Line”, press “show” Accounting distributions
  7. Select “Add another row”
  8. Fill in amount account, description, Analysis owner, and Local analysis
  9. Add another row and repeat above, until all items are registered.
  10. Press “Approve” down on the right hand side
  11. The error occurs

The following error is found when the FND: Diagnostics profile option is set to Yes:
