While terminating an Item instance, below error occurs

The Item is not Serial Controlled. You are trying to provide a Serial Number (K6GA-UALK-ZMP6-UQYQ) for a Non-Serialized Instance.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Install Base Agent User
2. Query for an item instance
3. Try to update the instance and try to terminate the same
