Unable to update stop information using shipping operations responsibility

oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.DMLException: JBO-26080: Error while selecting entity for WshTripStopEO

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Step 1 - Create a trip from Delivery
Step 2 - Ship Confirm Trip, the following check box are unchecked: Close Trip and Defer Interface
Step 3 - Ship Confirm is completed. trip is changed to in transit
Step 4 - under the shipping operations responsibility user search the trip generated above
Step 5 - under the stop location screen, user try to update stop information (DFF attributes), then user tries to save the record
Step 6 - the following message is displayed: You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact your System Administrator for assistance.
Step 7 - checking the exception details we can see the following message: oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.DMLException: JBO-26080: Error while selecting entity for WshTripStopEO
