A rate type was defined in Currency Rates Manager using pivot currency and a few contra-currencies. The business requirement -since deleting Rate Types is not possible (Enhancement Request BUG 8536347 POSSIBILITY TO DISABLE/ DEACTIVATE A CONVERSION RATE TYPE)- is to re-purpose the Rate Types into having a new definition.

Deleted the contra-currencies, attempt to delete also the pivot currency - this errors.

3. Remove all the contra currencies using the remove button on the right side

4. Clear the Pivot currency and click on Apply > Error
