Autobackorder Functionality Not Working Even After Applying Patch 31230755:R12.WSH.C (Doc ID 2748963.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 12, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Inventory Management - Version 12.2.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.8 version, Automate Backorder Move

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Applied patch 31230755:R12.WSH.C as per Oracle Inventory Management Release Notes for Release 12.2.9 (Doc ID 2557918.1) to backport the auto backorder functionality from R12.2.9 to R12.2.8. However, with all the required setups in place, the functionality is still not working.

'Automate Backorder Move' is set to 'Auto Transact' in Shipping parameters window on Shipping Transaction tab.

When the order is backordered from Shipping Transactions form, a move order is created with transaction type as 'Reverse Staging Transfer' with correct source and destination sub inventories. But the move order is not allocated and transacted on its own and remains in Pre-approved status.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The move order must get auto-transacted and the goods should be automatically moved to original subinventory.

STEPS
-----------------------

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create sales order using Oracle Order Management.

2. Release Sales Order Line.

3. Backorder Sales Order Line using Shipping Transaction Form.
