Symptoms

MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) fonts are special fonts printed with magnetic ink so that the bank can read the check without human intervention.

Payments are not properly showing/printing MICR characters after the template was updated with Microsoft Office 365.
Without the MICR values being properly presented the bank will reject the checks.

All other fonts on the check are begin correctly displayed/printed.

Changes

Microsoft Word was upgraded to Microsoft Office 365 and the template was changed using the newer version of Microsoft Word.
