Is there any feature to do Constant Currency Analysis in EBS General Ledger ?
What is Constant Currency?
Constant currencies are exchange rates used to eliminate the effect of fluctuations when calculating financial performance numbers for publication in financial statements.
Companies with overseas operations often supplement mandatory, reported figures with optional, constant currency numbers. Basically, it enables them to show investors how they performed, independently of foreign currency movements.
Business Case example
Ledgers exist for:
- US Headquarters where "USD Ledger" uses USD as Functional Currency
- Other offices globally like "GBP Ledger" for UK office (using GBP as Func Currency) , "MXN Ledger" for Mexico office (using MXN as Func Currency)
- Consolidated ledger "CONSLD_BOOK" using USD as Functional Currency
Constant Currency Analysis
Jan21 is closed wiht GBP and MXN ledgers consolidated to CONSLD_BOOK
Required to bring in those Jan21 balances and convert with Feb21 exchange rate and do a comparison / performance with last year and this year
