An upgrade must have immediately preceded this action.  This will fail on first test of the Journal Posting process after an upgrade completes.

1) Sign in with a responsibility that has posting enabled, such as General Ledger Super User.

2)  Use the menu path:  Journals : Post

3)  Query up the batch you wish to post.

4)  Select the batch by enabling the check box.

5)  Choose the Post button.

After process fails, review log file.

Upgraded to 12.2.10 from an earlier version such as 12.1.3.
