WebADI- 'All Rows' Upload Parameter Attempts To Upload Blank Rows: XX row(s) failed validation, and 0 row(s) have been successfully uploaded (Doc ID 2786191.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 18, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator - Version 12.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In 12.2 when using a WebADI integrator with upload parameter ALL rows, blank rows are attempted to be uploaded and fail due to lack of data. This issue is seen after upgrade from 12.1.3 to 12.2 and is seen for all the integrators/products, when the profile setting BNE: Enable OOXML Standard is set this to No.

The following error is shown on the screen:

ERROR

XX row(s) failed validation, and 0 row(s) have been successfully uploaded

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1) Create the WebADI template or use an existing saved template.
2) Populate the data in the template for upload.
3) Select Oracle -> Upload from the menu.
4) Select Alls Rows parameter for upload, populate the balance of the parameters and select Upload.
5) The following error is seen:  The upload process has completed with the following status:
XX row(s) failed validation, and 0 row(s) have been successfully uploaded.
6) It is noted that all rows shown in the spreadsheet are attempting to be uploaded and not just the populated lines.

Example - if 2 rows are populated with data, 2 records would be expected to be uploaded.
The error may read:
The upload process has completed with the following status:

17 row(s) failed validation, and 0 row(s) have been successfully uploaded.

Due to this issue, it is not possible to use the ALL rows parameter to uploaded WebADI data, the rows must be flagged and the Flagged Rows parameter must be used to upload the data.

Changes

Upgrade from 12.1 to 12.2 or patching 12.2 instance.
