Is The Manufacturing Execution System To Be Setup At Source Or Destination Instance? (Doc ID 2786880.1)

Goal

We have EBS system with R12.1.3. Plan of action is to implement ASCP which will be in separate instance. Version of ASCP is R12.2.6. Also we will have production scheduling in Source instance.

We are planning to implement MES so that easy access to be given to shop floor team.

I have read that MES should be where Source Instance is. But I am little skeptical on the same.We need to know where exactly MES should be or works better?
