"Update Item Statuses With Pending Statuses" Concurrent Program Errors Out With Buffer Overflow Error (Doc ID 2795969.1)

Symptoms

Actual Behavior

Item pending status is updated to a particular effective date. The program "Update Item Statuses With Pending Statuses" is scheduled in the instance. When large volume of data is processed and if any item goes into exception, then program errors out with buffer overflow error and does not process remaining records.

Expected Behavior

It is expected that program should implement the item status changes and implemented date should be same as effective date.In case of any error record, it is expected that program should process remaining records.

Error

Cause: FDPSTP failed due to ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-06512: at "APPS.INV_ITEM_MSG", line 232
ORA-06512: at "APPS.INV_ITEM_STATUS_CP", line 777
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric


Steps

1. Go to Any organization Item-> Tools-> Pending status.
2. Create a new record and add status and effective date.
3. Click on implement to implement the status change.

4. Run Concurrent Program "Update Item Statuses With Pending Statuses" and observe that it errors out.
