R12: AP: Inconsistent Length Increase of Column PAY_GROUP_LOOKUP_CODE After R12.2 Upgrade
(Doc ID 2801769.1)
Last updated on JULY 22, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Payables - Version 12.2 to 12.2.10 [Release 12.2]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
After upgrading to EBS R12.2.x, there is observed an inconsistent length of column PAY_GROUP_LOOKUP_CODE across AP tables. This results in a functionality impact in Payables.
The length of column PAY_GROUP_LOOKUP_CODE increased (to 30) in AP_INVOICES_ALL. However, the length of column PAY_GROUP_LOOKUP_CODE remained the same (as 25) in other AP tables: AP_INVOICES_ALL_A, AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE, AP_RECURRING_PAYMENTS_ALL, AP_BATCHES_ALL, AP_SUPPLIERS, AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE, and AP_SUPPLIER_SITES_ALL.
This results in allowing manual creation of Invoices with PAY_GROUP_LOOKUP_CODE (PGLC) of length 30 while impacting following functionality:
1. Not able to capture audit of Invoices that have PGLC of length 30 in AP_INVOICES_ALL_A.
2. Not allowing Invoices to be interfaced using PGLC of length 30 as AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE can not accomodate PGLC of more than 25.
3. Not defaulting PGLC at supplier/supplier site level as PGLC of length 30 can not be stored in AP_SUPPLIERS and AP_SUPPLIER_SITES_ALL.
4. Invoices having PGLC of length 30 can not be created in batch mode and PGLC of length 30 can not be used in recurring invoices.
