ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
While using Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2, Self-Service Web Page performance is very poor.  It is taking longer than expected to navigate from one page to the next, ~15 seconds or more in most cases.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

-------------------------------------

1. Login to Oracle E-Business Suite and navigate through Self Service Pages.  Notice the following:

A review of an AWR report during the time of the performance issue shows the following WF related SQLs as Top SQLs:

The SQL Ordered by CPU Time shows this:

The full SQL statements for the  Top SQL statements:

Additionally, the Top PL/SQL Procedures shows these procedures:

Changes

This usually happens after the upgrade from EBS 12.1+ to EBS 12.2+ but could occur at any time if Workflow Notifications become too numerous.

Cause
The Profile option WF: Enable Worklist Global Header was set to 'Yes'. This can cause a performance impact if there are a lot of Workflow notifications.

Solution
Perform the following action plan to disable the WF:Enable Worklist Global Header so the counts of Workflow notifications are not displayed in the Homepage Header:

ACTION PLAN
----------------------
 1. Login to EBS (Notice the Bell Shaped icon in the Home page header.  This indicates that the WF: Enabled Worklist Gloabel Header is set to 'Yes')
 2. Click the System Administrator Responsibility.
 3. Click on Profile
 4. Click on System (Forms will Launch)
 5. Search for profile option WF: Enable Worklist Global Header
 6. Set profile option WF: Enable Worklist Global Header => No (Setting this profile option to 'No' will then not count/display WF notifications counts in the header of the Home Page)
 7. Log out of Forms (notice that the WF Notification count is still displayed until you log out of EBS and log back in)
 8. Log out of EBS.
9(optional). Clear cache using the Functional Administrator Responsibility (may not be necessary but good to do)
 10. Login to EBS.  The WF Notifications count is no longer displayed in the header and the page launches much faster. Navigations between Self-Service Pages is also quicker.
