In Case of Multiple Accrual Plan Element Links, Why Accrual Balance Resets to Zero After Assignment Change? (Doc ID 2802639.1)

When an Employee who is already enrolled in an accrual plan (that has multiple mutually exclusive element links) updates the assignment such that the new assignment is still eligible for the accrual plan, why is the Accrual Balance getting reset to Zero?

For Example:

Accrual Plan has two Element Links: One link for "People Group 1" and another link for "People Group 2".

Employee is currently enrolled in the Accrual Plan and has "People Group 1" and Accrual Balance is a positive non-zero number.

Now the Employee updates the assignment to "People Group 2".

In this case, why is the Accrual Balance getting reset to Zero?
