On Edge browser view output downloaded as FNDWRR.txt and fails to open with "Authentication failed" error

Symptoms
On : 12.2.10 version of EBS, version of Edge used is 96.0.1054.34 (Official build) (64-bit).
Cannot open Excel/RTF output from Requests when default browser is Edge
the following error occurs.

Authentication failed
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run concurrent request that generates Excel or RTF output
2. Open output in requests
3. Output downloads a file called FNDWRR.txt (regardless of the output type)
4. Instead opens text file with text “Authentication failed.”.
