Non-recurring Element Gets End Dated Before the Period End Date When The Dependent People Group Segment Is Updated (Doc ID 2827404.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 18, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Payroll - Version 12.2 HRMS RUP14 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Two non-recurring entries are entered for an an assignment. In Assignment form, element link criteria (like People Group segment) is updated for which the eligibility criteria continues for one element entry and not for the other. In this case one entry must get end dated and other should continue. But it is observed that both the entries get end dated. Same scenario with only one element entry works as expected i.e., the element entry remains till period end date. Is there a rational behind this behavior.

Example:

People Group Segment
Segment1 = CSPP/ DBI --> Two value in LOV

Elements:
Element1
Linked to CSPP & DBI

Element2
Linked to CSPP

Employee Assignment:
Segment1 = CSPP

Case-1: Two Elements are entered in Element Entries
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Enter Element1 & Element2 in Sep-2021
Update Segment1 = DBI effective 10-Sep-2021
Both elements are end dated as on 09-Sep-2021

Case-2: Single Element entered in Element Entries
--------------------------------------------------------------
Enter Element1 in Sep-2021
Update Segment1 = DBI effective 10-Sep-2021
Element1 is not end dated on 09-Sep-2021 and continues to exist till period end (30-Sep-2021)
