Actual Quantity in Batch is Very Different from Sum of Transactions for that Batch Line, Transaction Associated wiith Incorrect Line (Doc ID 2828258.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 14, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Process Manufacturing Process Execution - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.1.3 version, Batches

An ingredient in a batch has an actual quantity much higher than the sum of the transactions.
Analysis of the transaction data showed that this is because a transaction for another item on a different ingredient line got stamped with the material_detail_id of the first-mentioned ingredient.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect the transactions to be for the correct ingredient lines, and the actual quantities to be correct.

STEPS
-----------------------
It is unknown how this happened. The steps to see the issue in the application are as follows.

1. Retrieve batch on Batch Details form (Production Supervisor > Batch Details) and look at the Actual Qty for an ingredient.
2. Open the View Material Transactions screen from the batch (Inventory > View Transactions) and compare the transaction quantities for the ingredient with the actual quantity. They should be the same, but with this issue they are different,.
