Purpose

Misclassified Accounts are one of the major reasons that cause General Ledger Balance Corruption. Misclassified Accounts are caused when the users change the account type of segment value without changing the account type of the code combination created using the segment value. These changes would lead to an incorrect movement of balances at the year end.Issues caused by this misclassification can impact the Period/Year end closure and Statutory Financial Reports.

Segment value - FNDFFMSV (General Ledger Responsibility-Setup-Financials-FLexfields-Key-Values) form allows the account type change and users are not alerted about the consequences of such change as per the existing functionality. This document provides a solution where in, users are alerted with a proactive warning when they are attempting to change the account type. This solution is delivered through Form personalization.
