Purpose
This bulletin describes why Oracle recommends General Ledger Account Balances Rollback as a solution to corruptions of the GL Balances table.
Scope
Note that recently there is one different way that has been released by GL Development.
It is called GLBALFIX. There is an Internal Note that can be obtained from Support by request.
GLBALFIX creates some packages on the system and these packages will help in identifying the corruptions as well fixing the corruptions. Please log a Service Request with Support to get the GLBALFIX. This method is completely without any manual intervention.
Note that GLBALFIX cannot be used if you have Budgetary Debit and Budgetary Credit account
types.
In these cases for example, the old Balances Rollback method still needs to be used.
