How To Check For Unposted Journals At Period End (Doc ID 285262.1)

Last updated on MARCH 11, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 11.5.10.2 to 12.2.9 [Release 11.5.10 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Executable:GLOOAP - Open Period

Goal

When closing the period its possible to leave unposted journals or incomplete imports. There is no warning message available or other simple method to warn you that there are pending journal entries for that period yet to be posted.
GL does NOT have a profile to prevent the closing of the period if there are pending journal entries for that period yet to be posted.

The period can be closed and those journals will error out if they are POSTED. The period will need to be re-opened in the open period screen to allow the journals to be posted and the imports to be completed

Those Journals, then remaining in the GL _INTERFACE table, can then be edited to change the date for them to be POSTED into another open period.
