User Hook or Custom Package Firing FND_NEW_MESSAGES Code Instead of the Actual User Defined Error Message Text. (Doc ID 2857147.1)

Symptoms

In the custom or User Hook packages FND_NEW_MESSAGES  Displaying or Firing with FND ERROR MESSAGE CODE itself instead of actual use defined error message text which is used in the defined error message definition.

Example: 

FND ERROR CODE : XX_CUSTOM_FND_ERROR_CODE

Message Text : ' This is the custom error message'.

It does not display the message text. Instead it displays error code as like below:

ORA-20001 XX_CUSTOM_FND_ERROR_CODE.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create a User Hook for custom validation with validation error messages.

2. Login application with Employee Self Service Responsibility.

3. N> Extra Information Function/Page. --This can be any function or forms on HCM Application.

4. Test the User Hook validation by entering incorrect data such that the User Hook validation fires.

5. Observe that the FND_NEW_MESSAGES code gets fired instead of the error message text as below:

ORA-20001 XX_CUSTOM_FND_ERROR_CODE.
