How To See The Actual Error and Reason for EAM Work Order Status in Pending for Release After Approving the Release From the WO Release Workflow? (Doc ID 2865368.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Asset Management - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When attempting to approve work orders via the Workflow, the release is not happening.

We can see the workflow error as follows:

Go to (R) System Administrator > (N) Oracle Applications Manager > Workflow > Administrator Workflow > Status Monitor page and query for EAMWOREL internal type name.

Look for workflows in error and click on Error hyperlink to see the details. You should see something like following:

Error Message = User-Defined Exception
An Error occurred in the following Workflow.
Item Type = EAMWOREL
Item Key = <item_key>
User Key =
Error Name = 1
Error Message = User-Defined Exception
Error Stack =
EAMWOREL.UPDATE_STATUS_APPROVED(EAMWOREL, <item_key>, <job_id>, RUN)
Wf_Engine_Util.Function_Call(EAM_WORKORDER_WORKFLOW_PVT.UPDATE_STATUS_APPROVED, EAMWOREL, <item_key>, <job_id>, RUN)
Activity Id = <job_id>
Activity Label = EAM_WO_RELEASE_APPROVAL:UPDATE_STATUS_APPROVED
Result Code = #EXCEPTION
Notification Id =
Assigned User =

But this is generic error and not providing the actual error returned the Process WO API that is called by the approval process.
