Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

User has a multi-row attribute group with just one record of data. When updating this record from Item Overview > User defined attribute page, an error is thrown. This is not expected. User should be able to maintain one row without defining a unique key for the attribute group. Unique key will be required only when there are more than one records in the attribute group.

Error
-------
"&Attribute_Group" lacks a defined combination of fields whose values would uniquely identify a row of data for "&Attribute_Group" (i.e., a Unique Key). Please ask your system administrator to fix this problem.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Development manager > Item Simple search > Search for item with multirow attribute group > Item: ABC100
2. Open Multi-row attribute group page > Click on Update > Try to update first record > See error.

Workaround
-------------
Remove the newly added empty record and then, try to update the first record. This will not cause any errors.
However, empty records should not be validated as the second record as user has not entered any data.
