"Authentication failed." Message is displayed in Output after Saving a Report from Edge Browser.

Symptoms
When attempting to open the report output saved from Edge Browser the file contains only the text below:
Authentication failed.
The same test works fine for Internet Explorer.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log in to General Ledger responsibility
2. Navigate to View > Request > Submit a New Request
3. Run the report. Example: Trial Balance Detail
4. Open the Output in Edge Browser
5. Save the output as FNDWRR.txt
6. Try to open the saved file
