ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
XLABAOPE: Open Period Balances is taking long time 826 minutes to complete.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
XLABAOPE: Open Period Balances should take less time to complete.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to General Ledger Responsibility
2. Setup/Open/Close
3. Open the period.
4. XLABAOPE: Open Period Balance runs for more than 826 minutes.

Changes

The Maintain Balances is set to 'Always' in the Subledger setup as below:

Login to Subledger Responsibility
Setup: Accounting
Setups: Subledger Accounting Setup: Accounting Methods Builder: Journal Entry
Setups: Supporting References

The Maintain Balances checkbox indicates whether user want to maintain balances for this Supporting Reference or not.

• NEVER—if you do not want to track balances
• BASED ON ACCOUNT—to maintain balances for this Supporting Reference
• ALWAYS—indicates that the balances will be carried forward to the next year.

If they have it in ALWAYS, this will accumulate the volume of data in xla_ac_balances.

If they have it in ALWAYS, this will accumulate the volume of data in xla_ac_balances. If this is the case, suggest using one of the other two setups if it is suitable for their requirements. Also suggest having the fewest open periods. Since a large number of open periods increases the volume of data in this table.
