How can a Manufacturer Part Number be inactivated?

1. Go to Inventory responsibility > Items > Master Items
2. Query for the item > Tools > Manufacturer Part Numbers
3. See the manufacturer part number

There does not seem to be an Effective To or other field to inactive.
