Invalid Error Message In Product Hub While Creating Stock Keeping Unit (SKU)'s Attributes - Error: 'Inventory Item ID "xxxxx" is not a valid inventory Item ID in the passed-in organization.' (Doc ID 2876441.1)

Symptoms


Invalid Message in product data hub (PIM) while creating stock keeping unit (SKU)'s attributes.

When the users create SKU's attributes (For example: color or size) in PIM, the system displays an invalid error message. Though the item is valid in the system. The behavior is inconsistent and sometimes it shows proper error message. (For example: YYYYY is not a valid value for Attribute "Color" in Attribute Group).

Inventory Item ID "xxxxx" is not a valid inventory Item ID in the passed-in organization.


Steps

1. Go to Item search (Development Manager -> Mass Update -> Update Organization Item Attributes)
2. Search for an item
3. Try to update on user defined attributes and see the error
