Reversal Revaluation Journal Moved to a Different Period, RUNNING_TOTAL_ACCOUNTED_DR/CR Amounts Changed to Zero. Is It Possible to Still Reverse Revaluation? (Doc ID 2885375.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 01, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
General Ledger (GL)
GLXFCRVL Revaluation form

Symptoms

Revaluation was run for the period. Reversal of the journal was created for the next period, however, by mistake, the users changed the period for the reversal journal into the current period and posted this reversal.

While performing that, RUNNING_TOTAL_ACCOUNTED_DR / RUNNING_TOTAL_ACCOUNTED_CR for the reversal journal changed to zero.

The original Revaluation journal is now marked for reversal but the reversal journal is showing zero entered and accounted amounts (no impact over the balances).

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

The expectation is to be able to reverse the original Revaluation journal once again since it got stuck marked as reversed but the reversal journal is showing zero values.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. General Ledger responsibility > Currency > Revaluation

2. Submit Revaluation for the period

3. Post the resulting journal

4. Reverse this journal into the next period

5. Change the period for the reversal journal (step4) into the current period

6. Post and observe all the amounts in this journal show zero values

7. Attempt to reverse the original Revaluation journal once again > this is not possible as it is already marked as reversed

Changes

Period change for the reversal Revaluation journal has been performed.
