Add Ability to Automatically Launch the Update Variable Values Page when Finished Using the Contract Expert (Doc ID 2892146.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 25, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Procurement Contracts - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When Users launch the Contract Expert they are presented with any requisite Questions and are required to provide responses. The system then evaluates the responses and presents matching Clauses based on the Contract Expert rule definitions. Users then click the Save button and then the Finish button. Clicking the Finish button causes the system to return the user to the Contract Structure Page where additional Actions can optionally be performed. One of the options is to check and Update Contract Variable Values. If any of the selected clauses contains variables the values must be populated so that those values are rendered at run-time during the Preview and Printing of the Sales Contract.

The system design current fails to provide any on-screen feedback informing the user that Variables exists in selected clauses and that the variables need to be populated. The current design places the burden of control upon the User to remember to Navigate to the "Actions" Menu and select 'Update Variable Values' to even have an awareness that variables even exists in the selected clauses.
