(Doc ID 2894365.1)
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 06, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Project Costing - Version 12.2.6 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Using the "Project Assignments" Dynamic template in Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) to auto-populate the time entries from Project Resource Management (PJRM) assignments.
In PJRM uploading bulk data through WebADI which is using Resource Management Public API to assign resources to projects at the resource level based on the percentage of allocation. For a resource(employee) client is uploading multiple projects for one day of 8 hours. Hours allocated in PJRM have up to four decimal places. Total hours in PJRM assignment adds to 8 hours but in OTL hours are rounded to 7.94 hours.
Example time card for one day which is created in Project Resource Management and OTL dynamic template is as follows:
Project % Allocation Hours in-PJRM Hours in OTL
------- ------------ ------------- ------------
Proj-A 7.66 0.6128 0.61
Proj-B 1.12 0.0896 0.08
Proj-C 1.25 0.1 0.1
Proj-D 3.67 0.2936 0.29
Proj-E 24.45 1.956 1.95
Proj-F 32.53 2.6024 2.6
Proj-G 4.2 0.336 0.33
Proj-H 2.3 0.184 0.18
Proj-I 11.11 0.8888 0.88
Proj-J 2.89 0.2312 0.23
Proj-K 2.05 0.164 0.16
Proj-L 1.44 0.1152 0.11
Proj-M 1.56 0.1248 0.12
Proj-N 2.5 0.2 0.2
Proj-O 1.27 0.1016 0.1

Uploading bulk data through WebADI which is using Resource Management Public API to assign resources to projects at the resource level based on the percentage of allocation.
In Projects, resource management client have defined 100% resource utilization with all the projects, but when auto-creating the timecards will have some rounding issues.
Project Development has stated that there is some universal rounding issue there.
This calculation was discussed multiple times and there is a small rounding(calculation) issue with this process.
At this point in time, the time user needs to enter the manual entry in the timecard.
