Cannot Relink Order Line To Original Discrete Job

Symptoms
ATO sales order line has been detached from the original discrete job and line status is again in PRODUCTION OPEN with a new discrete job.
Business does not want to complete this new discrete job as it will create over supply in Inventory . As there is already supply from the previous jobs which were linked to this order line.
The following errors are raised when user attempts to relink the order line to the existing supply in Inventory, delete existing reservations and/or cancel the wip job:

APP-WIP-25332 - Inventory Reservation procedure failed cannot delete reservation.
Error when attempting to delete the reservation:
An error occurred because the workflow is not in the expected status.
Error when attempting to cancel the job:
APP-WIP-25010: You cannot change the status of this job to cancelled, closed, complete - no charges because you have unfulfilled sales orders linked to the job.
Cause: You tried to change the status of a job with pending sales orders which have not been fulfilled by the job.
Action: Please unlink the sales order attached to the job prior to changing the status of the job to cancelled/closed.
STEPS

1) Discrete Job
2) Find Job
3) Open Job Screen
4) Select the Sales Order's tab.
5) Select a Sales Order.
6) Press the delete button.
7) Error is displayed.
