Encounter "APP-PER-449744: You cannot change the Final Process date to cause non-overlapping periods of service to overlap or vice versa." while changing Final Process Date (Doc ID 2901783.1)

Symptoms

When trying to change the Final Process Date, following error appears

ERROR

APP-PER-449744: You cannot change the Final Process date to cause non-overlapping periods of service to overlap or vice versa.

STEPS
--------

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Login using "HRMS Manager" responsibility.

2. Navigate to People -> Enter and Maintain.

3. Query and Employee who has been re-hired.

4. Date-Track to the date the Employee was first hired in the System.

5. Go to Others -> End Employment and try to change the Final Process Date to a date earlier than the current Final Process Date.

6. Encounter the above error.
