Error While Entering Start Date For a New Version of Accounting Sequence (Doc ID 2905503.1)

Symptoms

On : 12.2 version, When attempting to Enter a start date for new accounting sequence the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
 "The start date of this assignment must be on or after this date: DD-Mon-RRRR. Please change the start date of the assignment, or assign another sequence."


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to General ledger >  Accounting Setup manager > Accounting Setups
  2. Create a new version to an existing sequence
  3. Try to assign the start date to the new version and save the change


BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot generate the statutory reports as sequencing of the journals is mandatory for any reporting
