In Open Enrollment, Employee Cannot Add Their Spouse As A Beneficiary (Doc ID 2912782.1)

Symptoms

In Open Enrollment, employee cannot add their spouse as a beneficiary.
When trying - following error is received:

Error:
Row 3 error - This person cannot be designated as a beneficiary, because their contact relationship type does not match any of the designation requirements for this plan and option. <specific plan and option names listed>


Steps to Replicate:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Run Participation Process: Scheduled (Navigation: US Super HRMS Manager >  Processes and Reports > Submit)
2. Now go to an employee who has Life Insurance and enter enrollment form
3. Go to Life Insurance and the desired option, and add an amount for enrollment
4. Proceed to beneficiary page
5. Currently see child 1 as 100%Contingent, and Child2 as 100% Primary
  - Add Spouse as 100% and child1, and child 2 as 50% contingent each.
  - See error
