Oracle Process Manufacturing Process Execution - Version 12.2.9 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When a lot has expired after being issued, and you try to do a WIP Return using the batch Material Transactions form, the system gives a warning that the lot is expired but allows the return. This is correct.
If, instead of entering the lot number on the Material Transactions form, you drill down to Lot/Serial and try to enter the lot on that screen the screen does not seem to allow that lot to be entered. It does
not show up on the LOV, and if you type it in and try to tab, you get:
ERROR
----------
FRM-40212: Invalid value for field LOT_NUMBER.
Expected Behavior
-----------------
It is not valid to prevent an expired lot from being returned. The Lot Entry screen should allow you to enter the lot if you have navigated to that screen while doing a WIP Return, and it should be displayed on the LOV.
Steps
-----
1. Retrieve a batch on Batch Details that has an ingredient in which a WIP Issue had been done for a lot that is now expired (Production Supervisor > Batch Details).
2. On Batch Details, click the Transact Material button, select WIP Return for the Transaction Type, enter Subinventory, Locator, and Qty and click the Lot/Serial button.
3. Do an LOV on the Lot field (the lot does not display), or enter the expired lot number and press <Tab> (the error message displays).
