Adjustment is accounted completely to the tax account, but it should be partial accounted to line.
Setup is as follows:
Receivables System Option Setup > System > System Options Tab Miscellaneous.
The value for 'Application Rule Set' at the bottom of the screen is set to
'Line First -- Tax After'.
Adjustment Activity is setup to tax the tax code from the invoice to split of tax.
1) Your invoice is as follows: Receivables amount 116, where 100 is revenue and 16 is the tax portion.
2) You applied a receipt to this invoice with an amount of 110.
Due to the Application Rule Set definition 'Line First -- Tax After' the receipt amount gets first
applied to the invoice line balance with 100 and the remaining 10 are applied to the tax portion.
3) Now enter an adjustment of the remaining amount = 6.
As there is just a tax portion remaining on this invoice the complete adjustment will be accounted to the tax account.
The Application Rules Set can also be defined at transaction type level. This will precede the default value from the system option form.
