12.2 Upgrade: Updating Accounting Flexfield Segment Values Errors: FRM-40200: Field is protected against update

Symptoms
Attempting to update Accounting Flexfield segment values for the Chart of Accounts fails as the form is locked (greyed out) for all the fields and any attempt to perform a change places an error on the lower side of the form. Creating new segment values works fine, but as soon as they are saved, no more changes are possible due to this issue.
ERROR:
FRM-40200: Field is protected against update
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. General Ledger responsibility > Setup > Financials > Flexfields > Key > Values
2. Query for a particular segment and see the segment values under it
3. See all the fields are locked for updates
4. Attempt to change the value of any field > Get error on the lower left side of the form
